Asociación Nacional de Investigadores en Didáctica

The National Association of Researchers in Educational Methodology (ANID) is born on July 12, 1996 in Salamanca and it is registered in The Regional Registry of Associations in the District of Salamanca, with number 1.988, first section, and in the Spanish National Registry of Associations with the number 161.074.

In 1996, ANID signs an agreement of co-operation with the Fundación Universitaria del Mediterráneo and allocates most of its time to setting the organisational ground stones, mostly geared towards new technologies.

“The purpose of the association is to develop research in educational methodology and new technology applied to education and culture; to promote, provide or organise seminars and courses on related subjects and specially on International Studies, emphasising on equal opportunities, female education and the support to those less fortunate in the area of education and culture in order to encourage and improve their conditions along with their participation in the work force.”

(Statutes, Article 5)

As of 1997, the international activities of ANID coincide with the increasing importance and the rising problems of the educational sector in Latin America and the support being offered by UNESCO. This leads to the establishment of a collaboration in order to support the educational sector, the Secretary of Public Education, The Latin American Institute for Educational Communication (SEP; UNESCO), National University of Mexico (UNAM), the National Library of Mexico, the Mexican General Archives, and the National Association of Higher Education (ANUIES) which includes the most prestigious institutes and universities of Mexico.

ANID’s members maintain a relationship across disciplines with a global view that permits them to actively participate in various projects that include both a technological aspect as well as a cultural one (education, Digital Libraries, cultural heritage)

ANID in Europe Some Cultural Networks

ANID acts as a counsellor for the Technological Coordinator at the Latin American Institute for Educational Communication (UNESCO), Department of New Technology of the Secretary of Public Education in Mexico, and the National Archives, 1998-2000.

Project leader: Multimedia and Internet Projects for the Computer Department at University of Mexico (UNAM), 1997-1999. Since 1998, ANID is also a participant in the various technological forums and seminars organised in Mexico. Furthermore, ANID pioneered the XML standards creating the first SGML/XML server at UNAM in 1997.

Since 1998, ANID has collaborated with the University Committee for the Development of Internet (CUDI). Together, seminars and conferences have been organised on the subject of Internet2 (Digital Libraries).

ANID is a collaborator in the project “Cervantes Virtual” at the University of Alicante. Fundación Marcelino Botín, Banco de Santander - Instituto Cervantes, México, Alicante (2000).

Coordinator of the Digital Library of Red Escolar (ILCE-SEP-UNESCO).

As Technological Advisor for ILCE and SEP, ANID participates in, among other, the committee for the multimedia macro project "Videoteca Nacional Educativa" in Mexico, 2000.

ANID, within the European Network of Excellence eCulture Net, acquires the responsibility for transversal projects "Hypermedia e-Learning" in Spain. Additionally, ANID obtained the same responsibilities at a European level and within the Network of Excellence.
