World-Respected Auditor Affirms Completeness & Accuracy of Quova’s Geolocation Technology, Processes and Controls
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF. – Quova, Inc., the world’s leading provider and developer of Web geography services and technologies, announced today that the internationally-respected auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP has audited and verified the completeness and accuracy of Quova’s geolocation technology and processes for mapping of IP addresses. In a report released June 24, 2004, PricewaterhouseCoopers verified the design and operating effectiveness of Quova’s IP geolocation processes as well as the completeness and accuracy of several of Quova’s key reporting metrics. Some of the processes examined included Quova’s global data collection network, manual analysis, Closed-Loop Methodology and reporting processes.
The examination, which was conducted in accordance with attestation standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, also included re-performance tests of two key geolocation data quality metrics, coverage and accuracy. In these tests, PricewaterhouseCoopers confirmed that as of April 30, 2004, Quova’s country-level accuracy was 99.9% and U.S. state-level accuracy was 94.0%.
